Hi! My name is Tess Bloom – aka a Basic B in Baseball! I am 23 and work as the Director of Marketing for the Amarillo Sod Poodles! The Sod Poodles is the Double-A Affiliate of the San Diego Padres out here in Amarillo, TX!
A lot of people have asked me what it’s like being a woman in a male dominated feel, especially sports. I am not here to be a feminist blog (though I am totally here for the movement), but more to try and give an inside look on how me, a Starbucks-loving, nicely manicured, wannabe influencer navigates the baseball world.
A little bit about me! I grew up in San Diego, California, which is where my heart is. Growing up, I moved around a LOT. That meant residing in Monterey, CA, Albany, NY and Boston, MA all before college. While spending my later years on the East Coast, I decided to attend the University of New Haven where I received my Bachelors and MBA. Post-graduation, I began applying for jobs and in August of 2018 started a move to Amarillo, TX to join the sports industry. I started with the Sod Poodles in September of 2018 and was here for us launching our brand, the building of a brand new stadium, and the inaugural season of the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
